Dining in the Arbuckles

When it comes to dining in the Arbuckles, tourists and locals alike know that hometown favorites are always best. Whether you’re craving traditional southern comfort food, delicious Mexican food, or a steak to write home about, Southern Oklahoma is home to some of the best dining options around. Whatever your taste buds desire, the Arbuckles have great meals waiting for you. Use our dining guide below to help you choose your new favorite eatery. For additional information about these local establishments, check out the Restaurant Review section on pages 34 & 35 of our online magazine.
Boutique & Bakery
In historic downtown Sulphur, is a little gem you will want to seek. The sign above the door reads 3 Sister’s Boutique and, on a stroll through the store, you will find reasonably priced women’s clothing, shoes and accessories, children’s clothing, and a section of Christian gifts. But the minute you step in the door, the aroma tells you there is so much more.
Eat at Mama's Place
If your meals consist of things coming through your car window or some factory-to-freezer-to-microwave feasts, then you need to stop by Mama D’s on your vacation. Darlene has been cooking in the Arbuckle area, for many years. Her fans know that good eats flow from her kitchen. So, do as the locals do and stop in for breakfast or lunch.
One Stop Dine & Shop
If given a choice, I like to eat and shop in the same location. That is exactly what you can do inside The Mix Mercantile. Their statement of being “Purveyors of Fine Things” is quite appropriate. Shoppers will find a little bit of something for everyone, women's clothing and accessories, home decor, children's clothing, Amish foods, and Arbuckle Mountain Fudge Company made right here in the store.
